Women in Business - Tahlia Melino, Melino Legal

Tahlia Melino is the principal lawyer at Melino Legal, a firm she started in 2022. She has been in personal injury law, acting for defendants and focused on self-insurance and insurance, for 15 years. When she set out on her own, she struggled to find the confidence to put herself and her business out there, and to compete with larger, predominantly male-led, law firms.

When she discovered the Women in Business Program, she thought it could be the solution to ending the isolation she felt as a new business owner. She was looking for networking opportunities and a way to connect with other women that were experiencing similar challenges.

She has found all this and more through the program. Tahlia says the friendships and networks she has built as a member of the Women in Business program have ‘energised’ her and helped her develop more confidence; allowing her to put herself out there as a business owner and leader.

The collaborative nature of the program has supported her as she, and her team, future proof the business through tech innovation, creating better solutions for clients and helping the business evolve.
